What is the Emerging Professional’s Companion? The EPC is an online internship resource for emerging professionals. It is primarily intended as a means for interns to supplement and bolster their knowledge as soon-to-be-licensed architects and to earn IDP credit. How do I use the EPC?Begin your work with the Companion at any point that interests you or in a subject for which you need additional support. If you need help determining where to start, ask your IDP Coordinator, supervisor, or mentor for assistance in choosing the appropriate level. Interns can receive IDP supplementary education credit for work completed in the EPC. The Emerging Professional's Companion can be used to gain credit in areas where you need additional study to advance your career. You will work closely with your IDP Supervisor, IDP Mentor, and peers to review your work at regular intervals.
I want to start using the EPC; how can I get more information? You have a responsibility as an intern to take your internship and professional development into your own hands. One of the great benefits of IDP is the flexibility that allows you to complete credit at your own pace, focusing on some subject areas before others. Most importantly, the Companion provides interns with the opportunity to compile a personal portfolio of work they can use for career advancement and to access future opportunities.
